Frank Brennan

Francis ‘Frank’ Brennan (1924 –1997) played as a centre half and moved to Newcastle United from Scottish club Airdrieonians for £7,500 in 1946. He made 351 appearances for Newcastle between 1946 and 1956. After retiring, he moved into management, initially with North Shields between 1956 and 1962.

Eliza’s favourite players were Jackie Milburn and Frank Brennan. She once briefly met Frank Brennan:
